Writing & Communication

Extension Activities

TAKE EVERY BOOK 1 LESSON FURTHER

17 optional extension activities - one connected to every lesson in LevelUp Book 1.

Designed to extend student thinking beyond the core lesson, these activities provide additional opportunities for adolescent learners to apply their understanding through purposeful writing, communication, reflection, research, design, and presentation.

Connected directly to

Book 1

Every extension activity is linked to a specific Book 1 lesson, making it easy for educators to continue the learning without introducing an unrelated task.

Students build on the ideas, texts, vocabulary, and concepts already explored in the lesson while applying their learning in a new way.

This makes the activities useful for enrichment, deeper application, additional practice, or students who are ready for greater challenge.

17 Lessons. 17 Different

Ways to Extend Learning

From creating a hero or designing a strategy game to developing a whale conservation campaign, investigating an airport theft, or creating a digital wellness campaign, each activity gives students a different way to apply their learning.

Students are encouraged to investigate, explain, reflect, design, present, and create while building on the content and literacy skills introduced in each Book 1 lesson.

The result is a collection of extension tasks that feel purposeful, varied, and connected to the learning students have already completed.
